This is the No-Gi version that I was teaching recently to a BJJ student who cross trains with me. He was missing some details that was keeping him from being successful with the arm bar. I also teach a Gi version.
Not only do we throw, but we work on the ground too because it's the 2nd half of the art. The half of the art mostly left behind by most Judo schools because they are focused on training for Judo competition. We learn and practice the art as it was originally intended by Jigaro Kano (the founder of Judo). At the end of the day, Judo is a Martial Art and it needs to be applicable outside of the Dojo and in many diverse situations.
